Following on from the reddan thread, who I think is a fantastic signing for leinster, who would you love to see come to your province (realistically). As a Leinster fan Id love to see Bob Casey return when O Kelly retires, a new prop or two would also be nice, or a centre in the mould of de kock (saracens) or hipkiss (leicester). Id also love to see geordan murphy returning to a province.

yeah geordan muprhy wud be great for leinster.they wud be unstoppable with him i think.

think casey is happy enough at london irish. id love to see a french winger come to leinster, either clerc/rougerie/heymans. cant see it happening but stranger things have happened!

I'd love to see a really big centre/wing like Rabeni sign for Leinster.

Leinster need a speedy winger more than they need a centre.

ders nobody else around better than vincent clerc i think. if he played half as well for an irish team as he does against irish teams then we wud be sorted!

Was thinking just the same earlier, Leinster need a top-class winger to replace Hickie and those frenchies are barnstormers. Rougerie will never happen, and no Irishman can ever forgive clerc so I guess it'd be Heymans

Guy Novez transferring one of his players?? That indeed is fantasy. Personally id like to see Le Roux get sacked and his money short sided and get a decent loose head who isnt from a country where they dont play rugby -_- That or just get Mike Ross of Quinners at the end of the season bright prospect of a prop with a huge work rate who's 27

ha yeah. i found it hard to forgive clerc for all he has done to us but hes a class act. im a fan of his now actually!

well noves let michalak go even if its only for a year or 2 before he probably returns. maybe clerc/heymans cud come to leinster for a year/2 and go back to toulouse!

We dont want any French wingers lads. They can keep them. Especially Vincent Clerc whom I personally will never forgive. Ever.

In Fitzgerald and Kearney we've got great prospects for the future. They need top flight rugby to grow as players. They're not doing badly - Fitz scored two tries the other week didnt he! He's already a great finisher. Prop is a problem position as ever so if they bring anyone in let it be a world class prop.

BTW - Keith Wood said last week that the reason Ulster have gone so downhill is that they imported and grown reliant upon too many foreign players. When these guys moved on / retired / lost form / got injured, there was no blooded homegrown talent to replace them. Lesson to be learned / ominous signs for Munster?

Ulsters inability to develop their own talent has been most disappointing over the last few years.

Our provinces only really need importants when there is a visible gap in the next crop of players for a given position. Really if irish rugby had sorted out trading players between provinces 3 years ago, then redden should have taken the 2 hour trip north then.

Leinster don't need to important anymore backs. Forwards, ye seem to be getting your house in order there finally, with Healy coming off age and who can only get better as he gets older.

Munster, we have maybe 2 backs coming through that will make the grade, with any luck Earls with start lining out regularly next season, our pack is pretty solid for home grown replacements and with the retirement of Axel, hopefully John O Sullivan will live up to his potential and only good things can from Donnache Ryan.

Its pretty likely that Kearney will end up at fullback and Luke Fitz at centre though. Neither of them are all that quick which is the problem at the moment (though they certainly have other attributes and are both good finishers)

Gota wonder if the IRFU have a sprint coach to develop these players, anyone know?

yes they do of course, even since they were in the foundation, then acedemy and full squad they would have strength&conditioning, nutrition, sprint, kicking and tackling sessions.

Dream players - Carter for Ulster, they havent replaced humphreys yet.

    Richie McCaw for Leinster
    Dwane Peel for leinster
    Habana for Leinster

    Stein for Munster

Funny enough Peel was on the market before he signed for Sale how the hell Leinster didnt notice is beyond me its not like Sale dont have a shortage of SH aswell.

agreed.that seems to be the general consensus anyway which proves that we need out and out wingers.

regarding peel,id prefer reddan. i heard once that when reddan first went to wasps mcgeechan immediatley said he wud be the first choice scrum half for the lions 08. he cud be proved right!

I'm not sure if any of the current or upcoming players have the fast twitch fibres Hickie had.

Regarding signings, I'd like to see Bob Casey return, Mike Ross from Quins and Geordon Murphy.

Fantasy signings? hmmm Aaron Mauger at 12 would be nice and a running full back like Mils Muilliana.
