Picture Cropped on RTE

I have a 42" Philips flat screen with Sky Digital.

How come the image is always cropped on RTE 1 & 2.
For example you loose the "one" on the "rte one" logo or if your watching football you cant see the time or score graphic.
I've been around friends houses who also have the same issues.

All other channels seem fine, Is this a Sky issue ?.

You haven't setup your Sky box to tell it to output for a 16:9 television.

    (your friends haven't either)

Thanks 5h4mr0(k, I'll try the Sky box thing tonight.
I did already play with all the display settings on the TV remote control with no joy.

    Cheers.
