I am looking for a computer package, an internet site or anything that can generate chord progressions. I just want to have something where I can create a progression and then listen back to it over and over. Any ideas.

You need Band in a Box. Allows you to enter chord progressions choose the style
set loop points ,etc. It's not free but it seems to be the standard , used alot by jazz players for solo practice over the tunes.

Active Bass have a 'track builder' function which might help you.
Its midi which can sound a bit iffy but I find it does the job for me if I'm trying to learn something new.

Powertab is good for this. Its free, its for writing tab and playing back the tab in midi. You can type what you want and set it to play for any period of time. It should do what you want easily enough.
If you want something else you could get the demo of Fruity Loops and use the many sounds on that to program for what you want. You can do drum beats with it as well. The demo is free and has loads of stuff on it but you can't save what you've done, you can save the thing you made as sound file but you can't edit it again once the program is closed.
