    I kinda do.

What happened to their launch date release schedule??

Over a year now and no sign of Smash Brothers, Kart, Wii only Zelda in the shops.

Metroid and Mario took almost a year.

I bought the console for these games only TBH and am still waiting.

Even the VC is a disappointment in terms of the "classics" that they are releasing

To be honest, Nintendo seem to consistently manage to fall behind with their release schedules and I was surprised that Galaxy got released when it did, I thought it was going to be pushed back another while.

I'm more disappointed with the VC releases.
Generic, side-scrolling beat-em-up inferior Streets Of Rage/Final Fight clones seem to be clogging up the service, they are really holding back on more interesting games (I want to see Super Mario RPG, Chrono Trigger, games that weren't released here back when).

Yeah I'm sorry to say my 360 is getting more time at the moment.
(Having said that, I played a good bit of Zack and Wiki over the weekend)

I agree that they're releasing alot of crap on the VC too. I know they're trying to spread the AAA titles out a bit, but they're taking the p*ss with some of their releases. They should exercise a bit of quality control.

Sure the games are a bit late and it's a little disappointing, but I prefer it this way.. I prefer when they release it ONLY when it's ready. Unlike the XBox360... They release games even before they are ready. Fifa 06 and Rayman Raving Rabbids 1 are 2 examples of games that are so horribly buggy.

Having said that.. I've been playing my xbox more recently :P Damn you Forza!!!! (end race is over 1hr long.. omg!!!!)

I love the VC games in there... There are tons of great classics in there.. o_O

I agree with you but at launch they indicated times that made it sense to buy the console.

If I knew that I would have been waiting till now for the games that make the console worth it? i would have waiting on buying it

most of the big franchise games on all consoles get constantly delayed anyway eg ; gta,mgs etc that doesnt really surprise me and nintendo have always been like that aswell, i always keep coming back to nintendo consoles though.

    Slightly let down by Nintendo?

    In a word, No.

In a couple more words than that, the best way to judge the Wii's performance is to compare it to it's competitors, the likes of the PS3 for example, there is a console with a serious original software deficit, whereas the Wii has a good range of 1st and 3rd party titles for it.
Sure the wait for SSB is long and the wait for mariokart Wii is interminable, but the end is at hand, within 6 months both of these titles will be sitting alongside our Wii consoles and then the debate will begin as to if Super Smash Bros. Melee was better or if Mariokart DS can ever be beat.
There has always only really been one edition of these kind of AAA titles and they turn up midway through the consoles cycle so figure they are right on time!

The VC is always going to be contentious, as we all have our favourites and they can't include them all, sure if there is a specific Snes, Nes, Megadrive or N64 title you really want, invest in the original host hardware and a copy of the game.

Me, I want Super Mario Allstars converted to the DS, now that would make me quite delerious, as would a Wii compilation of Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2 Echoes, come on Ninty, you know it makes sense!

If you're going to compare competitors you need to hold it up against the 360, which has a stunning software library, it's almost impossible to keep up with the 1st class titles

i love my wii, but am appalled at the dearth of quality titles, particularly seeing as it's been on the market over a year now. it's remarkable they've had the success they've had really...

im not a fanboy of any of the consoles before i reply but you are saying in 6 months there will be SSB and mariokart and writing off the PS3 for no titles. MGS, GTA will be out in the next 6 months and GT before the end of the year (possibly). yes at the moment the lineup for games on the ps3 is poor but the same could be said for the Wii. the 360 has far and away the best lineup at the minute
Im more disappointed in how difficult it is to source the popular games, extra controllers and why after a year that nintendo are still creating a problem with low provisions of consoles.

Resident Evil 3 Wii Edition. Having so much fun with this one at the moment. In fact, when I finish it, I'll go back and replay the GC Resident Evils I have. I'm more disappointed in the DS tbh. PSP is getting much more time. But the wii is still used more than the 360.

EDIT: Err, by resident evil 3 I mean resident evil 4 of course! ;)

But if you notice, the games that get delayed end up been the best games, e.g Mario Galaxy, Metroid, SSBB and Zelda. Most of the first party games are turning out to be the best games so no, I am not feeling let them by them.

I think part of the problem is that the First Party titles are largely the only ones worth getting, so you notice it more when they're delayed.

Imagine if you were relying purely on first party titles from MS.

The reason for that is simple enough - the Wii has been so successful but developers probably didn't expect it to be when it launched, so there wasn't much development muscle being put into it from Day 1 like there was for the 360 and PS3. As such most 3rd party titles to date have been cheap phone-ins and the ones with any effort behind them are only starting to come to market now.

Hopefully by the middle of the year we'll be looking a far broader range of quality titles, and we won't be relying purely on Nintendo to make the Wii worth playing.

Part of the reason for this (allegedly) is that the PAL version of most games has usually 4-5 languages included (i.e. english french german , and maybe spanish/italian )in the game and also in the instruction manual packaging etc, so the localisation takes time.So you get your game 6 months late because you're lumped in with a load of other regions.

Although a lot of publishers use this as an excuse (and anyway since the "English" is really US English "armor , realize ax etc), why not just us give a PAL English language version of theirs?)

The exception to the rule is Sony , as they release late here or not as all as , well they just hate Europe ,simple as that.

edit: didnt spot you were taliking about downloadable content there, obviously what I'm talking about on partially applies here.

Since I got a 360 there at christmas I've not played the Wii at all. Theres just so many more great games on the 360, lets be honest. What the Wii lacks is third party developers but with the popularity of the console that will hopefully change soon, and not too late.

If No More Heroes is a let down I may just pack in the Wii altogether.

I'm the same, i cleared the games i had and bought a PS3 two days later.
I have not turned the Wii on in over a month now. I am so longing for Kart (both Wii and Super), Brothers (Again Wii and N64) and Zelda but the longer it takes the less likely i am going to bother. It is almost to the stage that i wish i had sold it before Xmas

What games did you get?
And Zelda has been out since launch...

Thought I'd link to this article, because it's relevant to the discussion. Glad Nintendo don't have their head in the sands either, and it's all the better because it fits well with my theory on the lack of titles at the moment :D

The Zelda, although a great game, is ony a mirror image of the cube game with extra controls.

I mean a Wii developed title.

I have Zelda, Madden, Tiger Woods, Metroid, Mario Strikers + a few more i can not even remember now and most of the Actual classics from the VC

Wii is a complete 100% let down in my eyes to be honest.
Had a 360 and got the magical 3 red lights so instead of getting another one i got the Wii.
There are absolutly no decent games except the 3 or 4 big games like mario and zelda.
Rubbish like warioware and raving rabbids are a joke.
Completely let down and would sell the console and get a 360 except for the fact
that my g/f bought it for me and she would kill me !
Its a sad state of affairs when streets of rage probably makes most peoples top 6 or 8 games on the console.

I'm let down by third party games for it. Nintendos games are almost all i've got for my Wii.
