Im suprised noboddy said anything about this fight, it was a brilliant fight and both fighters where so skilled in my opinion, if you did not see it i'd try to if i was you-the lads really pulled back the years for this, i also think jones jr has found his weight division, he was fast and in great shape,

trinidad needs to drop 1 weight and he'll be competitive too, anyway just letting people know that this was a great fight, ps, if jones jr stays fit Calzaghe is in trouble, Hopkins v Jones jr, would be a great fight though...

True to a degree but i think its more to do with jones's defense, than tito, he fought hard and threw nice combo's, the strenght difference did make a difference and jones covered up amazingly-i enjoyed this fight and thought both showed skill and speed and entertained, what more can you ask for!!

I haven't seen the fight but have heard from several who have that it was
nothing more than a sparring session between good mates??

Is there any truth to this?

Apparently it lacked any real venom and fire and was like
    an exhibition...

I wasnt all that impressed ,........ tito tried a lot harder than Jones.
Tito connected with dozens of full on body shots and jones laughed it off.
Man against Boy was the general opinion amongst us anyway.

Jones never followed up when he he tito down and rubber. Tito looked a bit chubby to get to 170, jones just looked right.

Jones never looks hurt, even when Glen-coffee Johnson ko'd him , jones was falling to the floor with that placid look on his face.

Thats what it looked like to me tbh. It didn't impress me much really. Jones could have taken Tito at any time but failed to capitalise. Too much show boating from Jones during a fight that really had no character so to speak. I thought there was more going in the Mollo - Gallotta fight.

Jones is past it - and Jones past it won't be good enough to beat Calzaghe in my opinion.
Calzaghe will win easily on points if they ever fight. This was a boring fight imo. Tito struggled badly at the weight which made it alot easier for Jones and yet Jones still didn't finish him off.

I thought Jones looked nervous at first but grew into it and looked strong. Tito could'nt hurt him. Jones just covered up upstairs and let Tito land body shots and then laughed at him. I thought it was a great way of letting Tito know that there was only going to be one winner.

I agree it was a bit of an exhibition fight. If Jones wanted to he could've finished him off at any time. I feel Jones still has a big fight in him and I would love to see him v Calzaghe. Would be some battle!!

Before the fight I had reservations about Jone's strength at the weight, but thought that would be negated by the fact that he was fighting a much smaller (naturally) man, but I was surprised how strong Jones actually was.

He never looked in trouble at all and once he realised (after the first two rounds) that Tito couldn't hurt him his confidence soared and we were treated to small glimpses of the old Jones.

The big difference for me though is his legs. He just doesn't (or can't) move as well as he once could and as a result is in range more.

Before this fight I'd have fancied Calzaghe, but now I'm not sure, as speed is possibly Calzaghe's most important asset and he won't have that on Jones. However he will be able to outpunch Jones and stamina could come into it. However, it is still a very interesting matchup and if it comes this side of the pond I'm definitely going !

No doubting roy jones jr poses a great danger to calzaghe but joes hand speed and punch power would be too much for roy to handle. just look at jones fights against tarver n johnson he was knocked clean out. he is still a great fighter tho.
