I bought my better half the Samsung U600 for Christmas and I was very impressed by its size and screen, not to mention the decent 3.2 mp camera, its a nice slide phone with a 2.2 inch screen and is only 11.2 mm thick.

With this in mind I wanted something similar but not the same, as you do, I looked at the U100, great value candy bar phone, available from expansys for about €175, and I looked at the 3G enabled U700.

But while looking at the Ultra series II model phones by Samsung I came across the U300, a flip phone. This seemed unavailable everywhere and no one seemed to have a release date on it.

Eventually I tracked down a seller in Thailand, and picked one up last week for €191 including priority shipping, it reachedme within 3 days of my order!

It a super flip phone, black, quite dense in construction and is only, get this, 9.6 mm thick!
Its got the same big screen as the U600 and has a small 2 line OLED display on the front, its got exactly the same menu structure of the U600 and has a good 3.2 mp camera to boot.

Only downside is the keypad, its a flat metallic plane, no tactile differential between keys, no feedback to say you've entered a digit/character, meaning texting has become quite stilted as I get accustomed to the pad.

But thats the only downside, seems to be quite a rare phone and is very very slim, until you open it and it's a good long in length phone, cradling it in your hand as you make a call its perfect, and its profile is even slimmer!

Anyway, anyone else use this handset yet, anyone buy one? How are you getting on?
