Scrape in Mariott carpark Sat night

I left my car (99 Punto) in the carpark of the Marriott hotel, Ashbourne, on Saturday night while staying there. Sunday afternoon, after putting the stuff in the boot, I noticed that the the front passenger door had been caved in (not majorly, but enough to be noticeable) and the wing mirror was folded in.

I went into the reception, got the duty manager, who inspected the car and is going to get the engineering department to review the CCTV footage today. Fair enough, he was a nice guy and I couldn't ask more of him.

The damage looks like it was done by someone reversing in or out of the space next to mine, just swiping my door. The paint isn't scratched, so I don't think that it was done too hard or fast.

The worst part however, revealed itself last night. Both my front dims bulbs are blown, and the full beam is blown on the passenger side. So the damage is more than just the door.

It's really annoying that someone can do that and just drive off. Plus, my car isn't worth a whole lot, and this is the second time that a door has been caved in. I was planning on selling the car in the next few months, but this damage means that the value I can recoup is going to be cut.

    Thanks for reading.

Have you looked into the legal aspect of this?

Law is not my thing but I was always under the impression that if you are resident in a Hotel then they are responsible for your car in their car park.

Maybe someone can clarify that for me. It was an open air carpark.
