My copy of guitar rig wont work properly on vista for me. i installed it on my computer after updating to vista. the program works fine but the output latyency wont go any lower then 15ms without making a buzing sound the cover the guitar completly. does any one know why this happens and if so can i fix it?
    my specs are:
    Intel Q6600 coad core@2.4ghz
    4 gig ram
    Asus Striker extreme mother board
Gainward nVidia 8800gt 2048mb bliss edition.
my computer should have no problem running at a really low latency and i can figure it out.

What sort of soundcard are you using? You'll have trouble getting the latency any lower with a bog standard generic soundcard. If you are using a good card, make sure you have selected it's driver in the Guitar Rig setup panel. If not, download the ASIO4ALL driver from http://www.asio4all.com/, install it, and select it in Guitar Rig, it might improve matters.

15ms is pretty good I'd say

Actually it is come to think of it, just checked my own copy of Guitar Rig and the latency is set to 17ms :o

Anything more than that might be asking for trouble though.

the input latency is at 7ms but the output wont go lower then 15. i can hear the delay between my guitar and speakers and its putting me way off and i cant play with it at all. my sound card is some PCIE card that i got with my motherboard so thats probably the reason it wont work. any recomandations for a new card? 80 euro at the most.

Not my area of expertise I'm afraid.

I can manage 4ms with my setup so I would safely say it's your soundcard that is limiting you.

80 quid on a audio interface?? I won't recommend anything but here are a few options around that price. Have never used them so ask around before you buy.

i think i might go with the last one.
would it be better to go with a USB/Fire Wire interface or stick with pci?
