Third Party PS2 Memory Cards?

I need to get another PS2 memory card, the best I can find the offiical Sony one is €20.50 on play. How reliable are the third party cards? I don't want to have all my progress suddenly corrupt. Argos have a 16mb 'Max memory' for €15. Ebay is a whole other story with 64mb for under €10, although when you think of it as price per mb it's still a rip off.

Capacity isn't really important, 8mb should be fine but how much can the generic card be trusted?
