    Hi there,
For second hand goods they are just as liable as other goods as being charged customs duty correct?

Can someone point me to an official government website that says this?

    Thanks

they are just as liable. If no price is on them I suppose you could argue the value they decide on.

Just think about it, if they were no liable everybody would claim their stuff was second hand.

Well, when it's in the original box and warranty etc is all included I doubt anyone would argue second hand.

Any concrete support for what you say? (Not that I don't believe you but I always prefer knowing the source of the information).

    Thanks.

www.revenue.ie is where to look for this information. I've always found that site not so great for getting customs information though, seems a bit sketchy most of the time.

Indeed - I've found out the facts about importing new goods (gift under 45 euro no charge, commercial goods under 22 euro no charge) but nothing on second hand goods.

I may give them a ring tomorrow (it's tough trying to do everything legally and find out the proper information!)
