    Hey,
I have a million and one idea flashes a day, 'do this', 'check this thing out' blah blah. I'm looking for an application that is good for easily jotting these down. I know of the Post-It desktop notes application, but was wondering does anyone know of a better one than this seeing as though the free version is kinda limited.

    Thanks

I use the google notebook extension for firefox. You can also view your notes anywhere by logging into your google account.

Have a look at Tomboy source code if you want a starting point. It's a notes tool on Linux. It seems it's being ported to Windows too (link).

What about the google desktop thing for XP that gives you a sidebar like Vista? Surely there is a notes gadget for it?

I found that to be awful for my pc performance - pc went from being nice and fast to be slower than my 6 year old dell.
