As the list of the Euro Rip Off merchants grows, how about a list of "replacement sellers" for the likes of Play and company.

    Here's a start

    Games

    www.Gameseek.co.uk
Sterling prices which are often cheaper than Play in sterling but postage charge of £3.99 to Ireland.
It still usually works out cheaper in Euro

    www.asda-entertainment.co.uk/asda/game.dept

Sterling prices usually a couple of pence cheaper than Play and free delivery to Ireland.

What was wrong with adding your post to the thread you started yesterday?

FX rates are a fact of life.

At 18-20% increase? No they're not and it's good to highlight them to let us have the choice of taking our business elsewhere.

Exchange rates are a fact yes, but sites that make up their own rate, often at up to 20% greater than the actual one as ixoy pointed out, is just a rip off. If they want to charge delivery to Ireland, then fine, but charge a reasonable delivery rate. Hiding it, and increasing it well over what it costs, in this sneaky way is just plain greedy. Something we've grown accustomed to here in Ireland, but not what we expect on the Internet's bargain grounds.

    Thanks for the links.

I didn't realise Asda delivered to Ireland, let alone free postage, so I shall be bookmarking that link! And indeed Gameseek as another site of reference.

Just had a quick scan of Gameseek. GTA4 for PS3 pre-order for £38, which shouldn't cost you more than €52, including delivery will be about €57. I can't see it being that cheap here when it's released, more like €65-75.

Looking at Asda, I'm not sure they do deliver to Ireland, though Ireland is a choice when you register with them, which seems to be for invoices only :(

www.sendit.com still (or did last time I bought there) allow payments in £ Sterling, which I hope they don't change.

Well, I'm after placing an order for Layer Cake BD, and it went through. We'll see now if it arrives, or I get a follow up "we can't take your order" email tomorrow!

As I write, I'm after getting an order confirmation email.

Let us know when/if the orders arrive so. It'd be nice if they do deliver here, some great prices on Asda's website.

Says they won't ship books outside the UK. Is Ireland considered UK?

Does anyone know how long Amazon.co.uk ,have been increasing their sterling prices for Ireland?

I've noticed on my last 3 orders ,that they inflate the price by about 5% and the postage rates seem to have increased aswell.

This doesn't happen on HMV ,they charge a standard 2 pound .
