    Folks,

See attached link on Moneybooker reviews, i set up a moneybooker account through Full Tilt for deposits/withdrawals. I withdrew about $3000 there last week from Full Tilt and although i can see the money has been moved to moneybookers i have not been able to get my hands on it. Bull**** such as account needs verified/account is locked keeps coming up. I have contacted them several times by e-mail with no reply. I cannot even gain access to their site tonight.

Anyone else experience this? Mike/Brian have you experienced any of your customers having difficulties using this as a payment option on GJP.

    On serious TILT

You need to verify your account by letting them withdraw an amount <$1 from your bank account. Contact your bank 24hr service to find out how much it was. Contact moneybookers with THAT amount and they (moneybookers) will validate your account. Moneybookers is very handy, but as with all online money transfare companys, expect to get hurt on exchange rate.

i made a withdrawal about two weeks ago and still haven't received it, i had to email them a copy of some documents to verify my account but they still haven't gotten back to me. ended up getting a wire from noble while i'm waiting on them.

edit: just checked my account with them, turns out i had an extra €1k that i had forgotten about \o/

Ive never had a problem with them but i hope i dont because anytime i want to send them an email it takes a couple of days for a response if you get one at all. But then thats typical across alot of services such as banking/broadband etc, i still cant believe how businesses underestimate how important customer support is no matter how unlikely their product is to need it.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 128 ✭✭Helper_Monkey

I agree DVDFAN. Its insane how little customer service is respected, ESPECIALLY with online services and communitys. Although, I have to say, once you get moneybookers running its smooth sailing unless you care about exchange rates, in which case you will be in extreme pain.

If Neteller lock your account for any reason, it's party time. I had an account locked on the request of the microgaming network who had made a mistake of beliving I had multiple aliases. After getting the network to explain the mistake to neteller it still took about 3 weeks of emails and insanely slow online chat to sort it out. I dont know if its neteller's fault or some american paranoia thing. I sent george bush a letter telling him i wasnt muslim but either he didnt get it or dick chaney told him not to believe me. :(

    Hi Jacky,

Same thing happened me just before Christmas. They send a code in a letter to your house. However I had moved house and all post was going to the post office near the house about 30 miles away so was unsure if I could even get it. I was peeved off at the time too. I did get the letter last week, entered code and account fully active again.

It is frustrating and I was frustrated as I was trying to withdraw 1k for the Christmas period and couldnt do it. Email took 3 days to be responded too then only a standard email back. I can understand why they do it, for security reasons, but I cant remember anywhere on their site or their terms and conditions that this was going to happen until it did occur.

When you click verify address, they send a letter out straight away and once you receive it all you have to do is enter the code on it and all will be well again!

I received this letter and entered code etc.

Haven't cashed out yet, but out of interest,
how long from cashout to money in bank?

Moneybooker withdrawal takes around 1-3 working days, usually 2 moe often than not

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 111 ✭✭Plan_D

I signed up with them on stephens day, they withdrew a random amount for 'verification purposes', I confirmed that amount but still havent seen it returned!
Only $1.50 or so but still!
I'd stick to the ol laser card...

When you made your first deposit, the amount they took from your account should have been in you MB Balance? Depost 50 balance = 56.50?

    It was for me.

How long did it take for the letters to be sent out? i am with them the last 3 weeks. No issue with account setup when i opened and lodged money in but funnily enough having issues with withdrawing.

Will contact them tomorrow by phone so i will see what happens

I had my letter within a week. People should not be surprised to have to supply ID or have account verified before getting full access to it. As well as protecting themselves they are protecting customers too. The same goes for online poker sites. It amazes me how some people can be so sensitive about giving ID etc. You would not expect a high st bank to give you anything without ID, so why should online be different?

Moneybookers account screen tells you your limits and also whether you have verified stuff so you should have known before putting $3k into it.

As regards to the customer service and email response times that is bad.

Yes that is very true - but a "high st bank" won't let you deposit money into their bank without everything being in order. So imo moneybrookers shoud ensure that everything(ID, verification etc) is in order before allowing you to deposit and used their services.

I'd expect a high street bank to have an EU banking license and be overseen by the Financial Regulator. I don't expect these things of a shady online bank so I don't see why they should be too concerned that I am who I say I am.

Fair point although if thats the case and they were not happy with my verification how did they allow me to lodge $200 dollars on their site yet when i want to withdraw winnings from FT i am having difficulties. Their customer support is non existent, cant wait to see where i get with them on the phone.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,506 ✭✭✭Shortstack

Agreed, sounds like the customer service is bad.

Sites (poker and e-wallets) let you deposit and restrict withdrawals until verification as it stops people getting fraudulent money out of the system. Nearly all have deposit limits that are low though until ID is verified.

to be honest im sick of all of them, money bookers are really difficult to set up and neteller.... charge you a **** load
withdrew $900 from fulltilt to neteller there
and on xe.com at the time it was €618... i look in my account there
€603... same thing happened the last day i was on...
going to have enough of a br to get neteller out of the picture and get cheques sent out to me i guess.. long old wait

The convenient thing for me was having nearly all of my poker accounts set up to with a Uk bank account and using a switch/maestro debit card both for deposits and withdrawals straight to and from my bank account. Therefore avoiding all this getting hit with currency exchange charges stuff with neteller and moneybookers. If it were possible for ye there it could be a handy option if you could open a uk bank account. not sure how easy that would be, but thought I'd mention it anyway.

    moneybookers...

reg'd my shiny new laser card with moneybookers via a deposit on bodog for the DIT Promotion. so far so good but for all the problems which involved a phone call from some woman in antigua (i wish i was making this up).

then i wanted to deposit money to another website... so had to create a moneybookers account again. I go through the process of registering.. i sh1t you not the text on my screen upon completion was "Thank you for registering with moneybookers, your account has been locked" ... this puzzled me. I emailed support. I now have an email that reads "Dear ditpoker, your account has been locked and will not be reactivated due to you registering multiple accounts with the same credit card (interesting thing is, i don't own a credit card, but whatever). You may continue to use your ditpoker account but you can no longer use your ditpoker account (hmmm... puzzling). If you wish to change the registered email for this account you may do so, however, it must be a different email account that is not registered. If you wish to register an additional non-registered registration you may do so through the appropriate registration process. To validate a new registration process we will withdraw a nominal fee from your account. To allow us to withdraw money from your account (for the account that is now locked) you must send us a bank draft of a nominal fee for your new credit card (of which I still dont own) and we will reactivate your new registered account.

    .... below is my reply.

Hi, with regard the below email, I do not use/own xxxxx@gmail.com .... it is a non existent email address. My ONLY email account is this one, i.e xxxxx@gmail.com , i.e the email address you have contacted me and all my transactions with you have been on... you say below I cannot use this email account with you? If this is so please close and delete all my accounts and details and I will take my business elsewhere as I do not want to open a new email account nor give my custom to you.

    Jeff.

This is turning into a nightmare 3 phone calls and 1 hour later i am still no further on with these clowns. They said my account was locked after a randomn security check yet it has remained locked even though there is no issue. They asked me to log in and it then advised me that a verification e-mail was sent with a link to unlock and guess what i opened the link its still locked. Typical reply sorry sir not sure what the problem is please hold for the 30th time.

Waiting on a Manager/Supervisor to ring me back:mad::mad::mad:

I have been trying to withdraw from Stars for the past 24 hours but there seems to be a problem with moneybookers with them. I deposited via moneybookers so it will not let you withdraw by any other method "Please try another cashout later"

  • Subscribers Posts: 32,859 ✭✭✭✭5starpool

I don't use moneybookers but I have been lucky with Neteller. No ID verification needed to link my bank account, account was locked once due to the 'different country' thing and it was unlocked straight away when I rang them. They rang me another time to verify me over the phone, and there were no problems. Then again, I have never been randomly been pulled aside in an airport either for a search. I must have an honest face I guess.

This gets better, so after i verify my e-mail address and after another hour spent on the phone i am asked to click a box where they will send a verification letter to my house with a code before i can withdraw. They say this can take anything up to to 2-5 days and then to add some more time on the next page states,

    ADDRESS VERIFICATION – REQUEST RECEIVED
Your verification request has been received. Before we can confirm that your letter has been sent, your details must be checked. This will take up to 24 hours after which time we will confirm via email whether or not your request has been successful.

Such bull**** delaying tactics in releasing money if i have ever seen it obviously to gain interest on peoples money, i could be waiting up to 2 weeks to get this money back. How/Why can they look for verification details after their site accepted my money when i deposited and verified and confirmed my details. Am i missing something here

More bull**** on their site below, essentially if they go busto forget about getting your money back. Will not be going back to Moneyfookers once i get this sorted.

Issuing e-money is a 'regulated activity' under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000. Moneybookers Ltd. is regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) of the United Kingdom. The entire balance of your Moneybookers account is protected by regulation in regard to capital, liquidity and float management requirements. We are required to keep the funds received in exchange for e-money in pre-defined low-risk assets and to hold at any time sufficiently liquid assets to be able to redeem all e-money issued. We are legally obliged to make our customers aware that (1) the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) does not apply to funds stored on your Moneybookers account; (2) if Moneybookers Ltd. becomes insolvent the funds stored on your Moneybookers account may become valueless and unusable; and (3) consequently, if Moneybookers Ltd. becomes insolvent you may lose the funds stored in your account

Have to admit after getting the MB letter sent to my house, it is highly annoying to think that withdrawing your money determines a Bank verification, Address verification and in some cases with MB Phone verification.

Apart from that i've never had many other issues with them thankfully.

...still a lot of them verification processes can get on your wick! :(

I'm done with the matter now anyway.

hehe, but seriously i have used it for few months now and found no problems with it until the stars thing the other day.
the first withdrawal took a quite a while to go through to my bank but since then i find it excellent, just two days for the withdrawal to appear in my bank account.
and its back up on stars again.

Has anyone else had trouble with Moneybookers and the AIB Maestro Laser Card? My card was issued without a security code and I haven't been able to transfer any money.

I think I'll stick with Neteller and bank transfers for now.

I figured out what was the problem - I don't have any money in my account! Waiting on a cheque to clear for what's seemingly ages. I might give it another bash in a while but Neteller is still working fine for me!

Around the middle of December new UK laws came in (something about fraud I think), which is why they've started to verify all accounts. I had cashed out through Moneybookers before then and was obviously very annoyed I couldn't cash out coming up to Christmas.

I asked them if there was an easier way to verify my account instead of messing around with small bank deposits. A couple days later I get an email saying that if I scanned my bank statement, which showed a previous transaction with them and that listed Moneybookers as the sender, it would verify the account. My Bank of Ireland statement listed the transaction I.D. but not Moneybookers as the sender. I sent that to them hoping it would be good enough.

Two or three days later I get another email saying that it wasn't good enough but if I scanned my I.D. they could also verify it that way. So I did that and the next day the account was verified. So a week later then I had wanted to, I send the money to my bank account. Unfortunately, it appears they were closed over the Christmas break and the money didn't reach my account until after Christmas.

Until that point I had gotten my money the next morning after sending it so hopefully this was just a once off thing. In retrospect it probably would have been quicker to send the small deposit.

Rather than start a new thread, has anyone had any difficulty increasing their outgoing transaction limit. I currently have a 12k outgoing limit but have fully used that and have other money on their site which i want to get off. I followed the instruction on their website to deposit money from my bank to theirs and this should increase the limit but surprise surprise that did not work.
I rang their customer services number and listened to the same bull**** as before send in id/documentation to verify account before they can increase, obviously they still have all of this from previous. Really are a bunch of pricks and try get you to jump through rings to get to your money imo

Just scan ure passport and visa card and sent it off. It will take you five minutes and when your done you can play away happily. it may seem like there doing anything they can to stop you getting your money but they have to or else the amount of fraud charge backs etc they would get would get would be massive.
