What to do with my old Canon 500N

I suppose like most of the contributors on this board my first camera was a film slr - a Canon EOS500n in my case. I came across it today - still pristine but lying unused in its original box since I went digital 3/4 years ago.

I was just wondering what you have done with your old cameras. Are they all gathering dust? Its hardly worth putting on ebay has it probably has little monetary value. Do any people use them as second bodies? Is there any charitable organisation that could use a perfectly decent camera thats just been overtaken by technology?

I gaze at it with the half finished roll of velvia longingly now and aain, then go out and shooot handheld at iso 400 and forget about it

Just can't bring myself to use it again, but can't get rid of it either. Maybe one day...

I've still got my F100 and would never sell it. For one, I wouldn't get the monetary value for it and secondly it was the best darn camera I've ever held in my hand. Everything was where it should be. I'm still waiting for F5's to go down in value to grab one of them!

I still have my 3000 and I use it now and again when I'm bored of digital. It reminds of how photography used to be i.e. taking a roll of film and seeing how many decent shots were on it. That and I bought a random box of 35mm film a few years ago that i still haven't gotten to the bottom of
