Samsung 40" and 26" LCD TV's - Opinions?

Right, I'm kitting out my new apartment and did the walk around DID, Harvey Norman and Power City today.

Of the 3, the best value I saw was a Samsung 40-inch 1080p LCD TV (LE40M87BDX), with stand, HDMI DVD player and surround sound for €1569 in DID.

Then I went looking for a smaller one for the bedroom and the 26-inch LE26R32B looked pretty good at €729 (although he said they'd match the €699 it was in Harvey Norman's, although THEY said they'd also match any of the others).

So, are these TV's as good as they look, or could I get better for in and around the same money. As far as the stores go, which is the best to deal with? My personal preference is DID as I've bought stuff there before without any hassle, but I've heard mixed things on Harvey Norman and Power CIty don't have the stock anyway.

Hoping to go back and buy next week (as well as other things like kitchenware, hoover etc) so any opinions would be apprciated... :)

EDIT: I'll be using them primarily for DVDs and Sky SD/HD

Just purchased the LE40M87BDX, god its a beautiful TV! The picture quality is fantastic on terestrial, the best I've seen on a 1080p screen, got a Pioneer DV-600AV upscaler and i'm in heaven! Got it for a great price too, my dad's VAT registered so I was able to purchase from PCWB.ie and they don't charge VAT so I got it for €1,000! Chuffed :p
