Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What to do with old glasses?

A bit of a silly question maybe, or maybe not...

I got my eyes lasered today and, thank God, it looks like I'll never have to wear my Godforsaken glasses again!

I was just wondering, rather than just dumping them in the bin, is there something "charitable" I can do with my old glasses? I only have two pairs. Can they be "donated" to under-privileged kids or anything, kind of something along the lines of the Jack and Jill Mobile Phone thing than somehow benefits sick children or something like that?

Seems a shame to waste em, someone else might get use out of them...

There was a charity bin in my old opticians, where you could put your glasses.

My opticians clean and label them, and then they're sent off to an organisation that sends them to the third world. Don't know if the major highstreet chains do it, but certainly it's not uncommon.

Vision Express also take old glasses and send them abroad if they're handier for you
