    Howdie,

I'm looking to get me some light stands, umbrellas, short sync leads and hot shoe mount for aforementioned light stands.

Don't recommend WarehouseExpress as they have seemingly turned into a shower of dirty theiving pikeys.

    Preferably European & online !

I was in the same boat as the OP a few weeks ago and I'm still in a bad mood from how hard it was to buy 'Irish' . I couldn't see myself buying anything photographic in an Irish shop again.

I was in one shop and asked for advice, with the intention of buying. He didn't have the item in stock, so he fired up his browser and checked if Barkers had one. I told him I could do that myself and left the shop.

Eventually, I found karlu.com in the UK and found them good value and quick. If my memory is correct, Barkers in Cork were the nicest but they were selling 'Italian' backdrops for €240 while Karlu were selling (non-Italian :) ) backdrops for €80.

Karlu's shipped 2 big boxes (18kg; insured & with tracking no.) from the UK to me for €22 while Barker shipped a small box (1kg) from Cork to Dublin for €12 via the dreaded Nightline. Both took about the same time - 3 days.

Apologies for the double post but no need to start a new thread.

I've been eyeing up the Manfrotto Nano lightstands with an 026 tilthead, hama hotshoes and brollies, think its around €250 all in for two of everything. Does that sound reasonableish ? I don't mind paying it if its the right stuff and I won't need to buy more things to make it work ...

    So two of these ..

    with two of these ..

with these to attach the Flashgun to the stand ...

Would I need anything else ?

I need that false hotshoe!!! Ugh, I forgot to order it with my umbrella clamp and I'm really annoyed with myself now :D. At least I've got my recycle times from full power down to <2 secs, so when they do become useful....
