    have the sportline m4
I have no cause for complaint with it
only one small nigling feature is the fact it has a plastic trigger but still no big deal.
but excellent excellent gun a great all rounder

I got one for a mate the other day and it has a metal trigger? is yours an old version or something?
their lighter than the average M4 but i like that after using the Dboys one for a while. they have a high torque motor and precision barrel too,. all for 140 quidich., cant go wrong really., theirs a review of them in the latest "Airsoft International" mag.,

I thought the current Sporstline model was an M15a4? Not an M4?

A CA P90 does sound the tasty alright. Though I'm not sure I could wait long enough. Depending on what the price would be, I might just get the TM one. One way or another it's gonna be getting overhauled internally anyway.

I'll definitely be carrying them as they're released.

You could always swap the trigger assembly for a CA metal one. Or any armalite metal one for that matter. They're pretty standard fare.

Plus the TR has that silencer with it that you can thread a longer barrel through if you wanted. It'd mean you can't take the silencer off anymore but the performance improvement outweighs the aesthetic inconvienience.

    who is upsetting Dex ,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,984 ✭✭✭NakedDex

There are nasty people who don't know the difference between an M4 and an M15.

And the Lexus isn't just a Toyota. It's an overpriced. They are nicely finished cars, but they're just pretty wrapping on a Toyota engine. (You can tell I'm an engineer. A car is only something for the engine to sit in)

is it just me or does this have two possibilities for the P90?

either really good and cheap or cheap and naff.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,156 ✭✭✭tonyj_mc

i know what you mean the tm one great, the wellfire one is just pants, the first one had a gravity feed mag, not spring

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,291 ✭✭✭✭Gatling

there bringing 2 versions of it out budget and full price ,one has to be a lemon

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,258 ✭✭✭Cheeky monkey

I'd say CA know that if they did a terrible p90 they would pay for it dearly its kinda one of those guns that everyone wants but no one wants to pay for :p:p

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,156 ✭✭✭tonyj_mc

guess the cheap one is going to a lemon, best of with the TM one then

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,984 ✭✭✭NakedDex

Not neccessarily, have you ever heard of a CA lemon?

I'd say the sportsline version will probably be a lower power one (250ish), standard internals etc.
If they bring out a "regular" one then you can expect higher quality results. Probably thicker plastic for the body. High torque motor with tightbore barrel etc. Maybe pushing the 320 mark.

Yep, they're actually well known for it ;)

True but would you really want to take away from the look and point of the P90

That's a dirty communist lie. I should have expected such a retort from a FAMAS and a FAL lover. <shudders>

I think its just to avoid confusion as CA have the M15A4 carbine which people would call an M4, then they have the M15A4 rifle which some would call an M16. Like wise with the A2s.

Thank God they started naming them correctly too. I nearly crapped myself when I saw an MP5A5. Turned out to be an A3.

I like those. I'd still prefer an all metal one but their damn nice. They have the Navy grip too. Always a plus.

nothing on there website about the rest of the new stuff, intresting to see there doing a glock pistol too

I don't own a FAMAS. Stop spreading lies!

ARGH, why doesn't it wash off?!

    ...

It's great to see CA make more of these. I saw someone mention €140. Is that the normal going rate?

:rolleyes: yes because their first entry into the market was an underpowered citrus fruit. Classic army are a quality company who use quality materials and make arguably the best AEGs.

The sportlines are no different. Good quality workmanship. I would say that they will use carbon fibre or the like (what they used for the AUG) for the proline P90 and ABS for the sportline version. optics I'm not going to get into although i cant really see them doing the Red dot then again i could be wrong.

As for CA being well known for lemons that seems to be in the past as with ICS they have bedded down and ironed out the problems with most of their lines. The newly emergent M14 seemingly the only one with mixed reviews at present.

I think that some marui fans are feeling threatened now that CA are going into direct competition with them and the clones.

Also G&G or is it G&P have brought out their armalite/colt m4/m15 in an ABS budget line as well.

I think that there is a 2 part legacy to the arrival of the clones.
1 they made airsoft very accessible to everyone and proved they can hold their own
2 they have humbled the high end guns into competing with them and are prety much eroding away the snobbery that was once there (although thankfully not in this country seeing as how Paul always talked up the clones a great deal.)

@ O1S1N not sure about the €140 being a standard price its just what the original armalite cost. I'd Say Derek will have confirmation on RRP soon seeing as he is with ASG who are the european distributors iirc.

Not to revive the Glock argument thread but I just don't like them. I can understand the appeal I suppose but I just find they look awful. It's like using a FAMAS. I know it's a damn good starter rifle and it's reliable as heck but it's just so irreprehensibly ugly. I genuinely would be inclined to aim at someone with a FAMAS more than anyone else just out of hatred. I'd notice it more and just want to end it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,414 ✭✭✭kdouglas

    interesting news this...

id imagine the releases will be spread out over the course of the next year

most interesting is the p90 given that the TM one is the only decent one so far, i'd imagine the sportsline will be lighter plastic with plastic upper and the proline will be better quality abs or something stronger and a metal upper. from what i know of the current sportsline, the internals are the same, so cant see them being a different fps for the pro and sports

I'm just saying it's a very distinctive shape and you would notice it quicker if you saw someone running with it over noticing people with, say, an armalite but it's also a shape I hate, loathe and despise for several reasons which I won't go in to.
