In the reviews section theres a retailer discussion thread.

Ehobby are ok, you wont likely be hit with customs either.

If things go right, and they usually do, they're the best airsoft retailer in Hong Kong, in my opinion.

Ehobby have a nasty habit of understating value on customs declarations normally anything larger than a show box and i have to send in the invoice to customs, simple thing thought is to always plan to pay customs and work the price out with it included normal it may be cheaper to go Irish.

i would not really say there the best, there unreliable on customs declarations they inconsistent on combining shipping but everyone has different experiences i;ve consistently had good experiences with wgc and would rate them as the best but thats a different thread :)

I bought a KJW M9 from them with some tactical gear. It shipped and was delivered without charges but that was some time ago. I found them very good to deal with but they will not combine shipping regardless of how much you buy. Saying that would use them again.

Although they charge you separate shipping fees for each item you order
they will post it in one package if your order all in the one session.
(making it cheaper for them again!)

We put in a big order with them the other day and they gave a nice discount as a thank you which we didnt ask for so fair play.

they are great for the small bits that no one else seems to have although shipping on the small stuff takes over a week,
however got a JG M4, HFC revolver and a tm glock of them they hit my doorstep after 2-3 days so not bad, customs wise hfc was under the 75 euro limit, the glock wasn't and i didn't pay a cent, the m4 got charged but hey i was prepared to pay it on all of them

I bought a tac vest and it came in under a week.
    Was quiet happy with that.

Have to agree with you there. Plus the fact that it's all through ebay adds an extra level of security. Well, it does in my head anyway ;)

Great delivery times. Ordered a pistol recently. Was delivered in 5 days

The shipping is pretty steep though.

I got cammo, pads, a drop leg mag pouch and a holster off them. I didn't get stung for customs even though it was just before Christmas. So far I've been lucky in never getting charged vat.

It seems bad that they won't give you one shipping price but when you look at the overall prices there still ridiculously low so it doesn't matter. I got all my gear for just under €70.

It looks like you may get a discount if an item is close to the end.

Depends what you're ordering. If it's just one thing, they're great. My g19 cost €23 to post. That's about as good as you're going to get coming from China.

Problems arise when you start buying multiple items. Although, I really don't know how many items you have to be buying before you feel ripped off.

Last year or so I bought a TM Famas, battery, charger and extra mag. That total postage price seemed about right for the order.

We bought a few items. The shipping was triple figures, in Euro. Still ends up being fairly cheap though.

i think ehobby is probably the best retailers out there. o got a baby highcapa from them a couple of months ago and it arrived in 4 days and they pack them very well.,
ive bought loads of other things since and never had anything bad to say about them.,

Just a little update on this. Our stuff shipped on the 18th, arrived in Ireland on the 21st, went into customs on the 22nd and was delivered this morning, with tax owed. eHobby gave us a discount and threw in a free gift too so positive feedback will be going to them later today!

Anyone know if they are still shipping at the moment.
chinese new year holidays and all that ?
Was gonna order some bits and bobs friday but dunno if I should
wait a while. I know Keith on RSOV has warning notices up about
    delays.

Whats the deal with them are they an American Company that Ship From China?
lots of these places seem to use USD by default.

They are trading on ebay.com so the default is going to be $USD, but if you search for the item sale number at the top left then you can try searching in ebay.ie for it and it might hsow in euro's but thats a slim chance. Just xe.com it for euro's

Google has a handy currency converter gadget that you can put on the search page.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 573 ✭✭✭rgt320q

When on the item page, simply change the ".com" to ".ie" in the address bar.

Do ye reckon it would be economical for two or three people to go in on the one order and split shipping, import duty etc.?

Cool was surfing their site only 2 days ago and it said they
would only combine shipping for orders made in the USA only.
Lots of times I have been spooked looking at items and
they are listed as only being delivered to USA but not
    the rest of the world.

When I requested a total off them my last order thinking they
would combing they came back with the same shipping price.

Under the policies section it still says it:
Shipping & Handling Buyer Pays Shipping.
We combine shipping on multiple purchase for United States Only.

my bad, ordered from them a while ago and they wouldn't combine it..... ah well!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,261 ✭✭✭Puding

I would say there is no set policy for outside the US I have put thought 2 orders with them within the last 40days, 1 had some reduction in shipping, and the other had no reduction at all.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,401 ✭✭✭Shiva

Send them an email before you commit to buy multiple items, asking for combined shipping. If they say no, tell them you wont buy. They'll change their mind. I've done it a few times.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,261 ✭✭✭Puding

humm that seems really simple when you think about it, not something i thought about doing with an ebay shop even thought i do it all the time with other web based shops :P
