We're thinking of buying this (Dell Inspirion 530 ST) it costs £550.

    CPU -
    Intel® Viiv™ Core™ 2 Duo E6550 Processor (2.33GHz,1333MHz,4MB cache)

OS - Microsoft Operating System Genuine Windows Vista® Home Premium - English

    Memory - 3072MB 667MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM [2x1024+2x512]

    Monitor - Dell™ 20" Black Wide Flat Panel (E207WFP) - UK/Irish

    Video Card - 256MB ATI® Radeon™ HD 2400 XT graphics card

    Hard Drive - 320GB (7200rpm) Serial ATA/100 Hard Drive with 16MB DataBurst™ cache

    I have a few questions..
    1. Is it worth £500 inc VAT and delivery (No, I won't be building one, it's going to be a present for my sister's 13th birthday so my parents want a ready made computer)
    2. Will it play Sims 2 and all the expansion packs on medium to high settings without any lag? Or will anything need upgrading?
    3. If at some point, she decides she wants a better graphics card, would there be a feature we would have to look out for as the base unit is considered to be 'slim' (refer to picture)

    Thank you!

I think the desktop version (standard height) is the same or similar price.

Dont get the slim one, they only accept half length cards so upgrading to anything decent is out of the question....

I think you would be better off getting the below one for £450,the sims doesnt require any power, the HD2400Pro should be well able for it....
