    Hey folks,

Just a heads up for those of you interested in this. It's a new show to Discovery and I've seen a few episodes. It's pretty interesting indeed. Gives alot of info and demonstrations of new sniper rifles, rockets, methods of neutralising explosives, etc.

There's an episode on tonight (Friday) @ 10pm, and it's worth a watch.

BTW, it might be worthwhile for a mod or someone to start a thread about 'TV shows to watch', for this sort of stuff. Ross Kemp in Afghanistan could go in it too! Just an idea.

Wait, is this the show hosted by Baldy the Wonder-SEAL?

If you didn't know, he used to be a Navy SEAL.

If you did know, well, he'll just tell you he used to be a Navy SEAL.

Usually three or four times in a half-hour show.

    NTM

No way Manic, he used to be a Seal?! Did he mention it before firing every weapon on the show saying something like " when I was at BUDS" or "when I was Sealing it around the shop"? Possibly the most annoying host on tv but wouldn't want to pick a fight with him in a bar!

The show has been going a while, nice idea for a programme though most of the technology has already been used or are in the final stages of development. I'd imagine that the real future weapons which the chaps over in DARPA/Skunk Works are coming up with won't be showcased for some time. And yes, the guy is a complete tool.

Well, granted he did get the Naval Service into the news. Oooh, that was fun. Some newspaper picked up on it and cried 'The world is doomed: Irish navy is playing with new technology!'

See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hXIiph-dNSs, fast forward to 4:35, where he visits "one of the smallest navies in Europe"

I used to enjoy Mail Call with R L Ermey when I was in the US. No idea what channel is was on.

The host of Future Weapons does go on about being a Seal a bit.

Caught a bit of this show today, they were talking about rubber bullets, no way would I like to be hit with one of them. The second I turned it on he informed he was a seal. I turned it on half way through the show and it was like he knew I was just turning it on lol.
