    Hi All,

I know its a long way off but I wil be getting married in august 2009 and I want to sort out the "big" things early (church,venue,photos...). Doing ok at the moment except for the photographer. I'm afraid the wedding budget is quite tight and no matter what way you look at it I cannot afford any of the proces I have gotten so far. Could somebody tell me roughly how much a photographer should cost in this area??

Even better would be the name or number of somebody reasonable!!

    Thanks.

if you want a professional photographer who pays insurance, pays their taxes, uses good reliable equipment and has plenty of photographic experience you have to pay at least €1000 and this wouldn't include an album.

If that kind of cost is too high, maybe put an advert on some photography forums with what your budget is and what your expectations for the photographer are.

many thansk for the reply folks. Im sure you do get what you pay for but when on a budget there is only so much you can afford! Being realistic I suppose I was hoping to get a an album and a cd of all the photos. I would love to have 2000+ to spend but to be honest that is way over my allowance for the photographer. The 1000 yoyo photographers seem much more in my price range.

Thanks again, will check them out.

A lot of decent photographers have the ability to offer what you want but its a case of trying to find them.

Good luck with the search!! :D

We are using George Willoughby in Thurles, very reasonable and very professional. I have been at two weddings he did and I have not heard one negative comment. He does an album and gives you a cd of all the photos.

Off the top of my head, why not just concentrate on getting the best photographer for your budget now, and then shop around to have the photos put in an album later on?

You can see for yourself how a photographer captured a wedding in the Real Weddings section of www.confetti.ie . There are 9 pictures of each couple and a source book so you can find the photographer's contact information. Reading about the real wedding should also give you an idea of the budget of the couple. Also check the confetti pink pages so you don't have to click around too much to get phone numbers.

In the Forum, the recommended photographers Morgan Kilgallen, David McClelland, Healy & Remmington, O'Brien.

    Hope this helps!
