Chorus (UPC) down in Swords area?

    I was "working" from home today and since about 9:30 chorus has been unavailable to me. I phoned Chorus and they said they would send someone out within 48 working hours! This kind of confused me, because that would be 6 days?

    I then phoned back and someone else told me that they would send someone out and it would be fixed within 48 hours.

    They said it is not the entire area affected, as they have only received a few calls. Well it is 9:30 am. If it is still down at 7pm I am sure they will get a lot more calls.

    Is this normal for Chorus?

    I was a bit frustrated with them on the phoen. They wouldn't let me escalate at all and said if I want to make a complaint I have to send a letter etc.

    Can't unfortunately, because I am in an apartment and it is against the rules.

    I am just happy that I dont use Chorus for broadband! I tried to when I moved in, but they could offer me digital TV and now the DVR box, but not broadband.

    I use Digiweb and have only had one two hour outage (that I am aware of) in seven months.

    Well its worse now. While some level of service has been restored, some channels such as Paramount are unwatchable. They are just a blur.

    I tried to contact UPC via the telephone twice, and each time after 20 minutes on hold the phone just went dead. Really annoyed with UPC. Any suggestions as to what I can do, bearing in mind that I cannot get a sattelite dish?

    Ive had no problems with the corus service in Swords/Applewood,I have the digital/broadband service since October, no outages or broadband issues.
