Just stating my utter admiration for Genndy Tartakovsky and 'Samurai Jack' :)

For those who arent familiar, it's a Cartoon Network toon from a few years back, from the creator of Dexter's Lab. It's his 'straight piece' I suppose you could call it, the tale of a goodie battling with a baddy in an evil futuristic Earth. Wiki knows all

I recently came across all 4 seasons on DVD and have worked my way up to ep8. It's truly fantastic whether you like toons or not - the style and imagination and humour just drip from it, beautifully drawn characters and backgrounds are just the start. The story progresses nicely, intelligently; moral and spiritual issues are dealt with; I'm guessing some of it must be borrowed from Japanese cultural stories a la Cú Chullain in an Irish context, or else I'm seriously under-estimating the creator's ability to weave a short tale.

Anyone else? This is the best thing to grace my screen in a very long time :)

    Sums it up!

Brilliant, brilliant show. I was devestated when I heard the actor who played Aku died :(

Well it's all virgin territory for me, and I'm really happy about that. Every episode is brand new.

Most recently watched 'Jack Vs Mad Jack' as it's called on my collection. Really top stuff - the bar scenes at the start, the burning trees, the ending... I'm really glad it's Friday :D

Didn't know that  Who will do the voice now, he sounded really cool.
My favourite episode's would be the one with mad jack and the first episode featuring the scotsman. He was class.

I saw bits and pieces of it when it was on TG4 (non-dubbed), and it was brilliant.

Yeah, Mako. Also did the voice of Zuko's Uncle in Avatar.

Anyway, Samurai Jack was fantastic. Last one was episode 52 in 2004, so I don't hold up much hope for any more... (please prove me wrong)

Interesting changes in the episodes toward the #20 mark, when there's a change of artistic director - everything attains an almost Disney-esque sheen and the storyboards become slightly more psychadelic and odd; case in point 'Jack and the Dragon' which is just insane :)
