OSCulator - Wiimote and Mac

Just found this cool program - http://www.osculator.net/wiki/

It connects to the wiimote and breaks down all the signals from the wiimote, then you can assign actions to the various signals, eg. move the mouse left and right when you roll the wiimote and up and down when you tilt it forward or backward and click when you press a button.

You can also use the IR detector on the wiimote kinda like johnny lee uses in his projects (http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~johnny/projects/wii/ ). I was moving the mouse with a TV remote.

Just thought it was pretty interesting. If anyone makes any interesting set-ups, pls post them.

    class.

I connected the wiimote to transfer miis to the computer allright, but that seems fun, at least for a few minutes.

Does anyone know any multitouch sorta programs you can download? The wiimote can track 4 IR points, but i can't really think of anything to do with that.

Can't connect either of my Wiimotes to my Macbook. I've tried everything in the trouble shooting but it didn't help much..

really? all you should have to do is open the program, and hold buttons one and two on the wiimote. make sure bluetooth is on on your MB.

If you connect it and then disconnect it you sometimes have to go into the bluetooth preferences on the mac, delete the entry for the wiimote and then sync with it again.

I had it working with the Wiinstrument. Was cool, you can play drums using the Wiimote and the nunchuck.

Not quite a replacement for a drum kit yet but a nice little idea

Blue tooth is on but it doesn't get picked up by the Mac so I can't delete it from the preference panel. Bluetooth works fine as it works with my phone.

Meh, it's not the end of the world.

Are you definitely pressing 1 and 2 at the same time? When you press those buttons together do the wiimote's lights flash for 10 seconds or so?

Make sure when you open OSCulator you click the discovery mode thing and then press down on 1 and 2. If they stop flashing and the first light stays on you should be in business.

If not then go into bluetooth preferences, find the Nintendo entry (if it's there) and delete it. Hopefully should work next time.

If it's not there then go into the bluetooth discovery thing for OS X itself, tell it to find a generic bluetooth device and then press 1 and 2 together. It should pick it up but ask you to put in a passcode. Obviously you can't do that (actually is there an option to not ask for a passcode?)

Don't put in the passcode, let it fail, go back into bluetooth preferences, nintendo entry should be there. Delete it and try and find it in OSCulator.

    Repeat as necessary

    Hi guys,

To those who had previously troubles connecting their Wiimote with OSCulator, the latest version (2.5.2) has a great fix that makes the connection smooth as it should be.

I hope you'll have fun with this one!

    Best Regards,

Anyone tried wiijing yet ? ;) ... looks fun but damn you'd need plenty of "energy" to keep going for any length.
