Transferring music from ipod to PC (without i-tunes)

    Hi all - I searched this forum yesterday and should have earmarked a similar question.. can't find it now.. sorry!

    In brief:
    I got an ipod nano - have uploaded cd's & artwork on pc at work with broadband - I can continue to do this no problem.

    I have a laptop at home without internet connection and would like to transfer everything onto that laptop for use also (connected to good sound soundsystem).

    I burnt i-tunes and uploaded it onto laptop at home, but I cannot transfer from ipod to laptop. Is there another programme that will allow me to do this easily and freely on a frequent basis (one that is free so I can copy to disc and upload at home?). Many thanks!
