I've been looking at the ExtJS library (http://www.extjs.com). While it looks the part it seems that all the form layout, etc has to be programmed in javascript files and that you cannot control these objects from HTML code using tags. I guess I should have titled this programmatic JS components (extjs) versus JS widgets…

I guess I should have titled this programmatic JS components (extjs) versus JS widgets encapsulated in Tags in the HTML (prototype, yahoo user interface library, yui)?
Opinions on which is better?
