Hi guys, I have a 2003 BMW316i and over the last few months the brake lights have completely gone 5 times. It has been looked at by both an official dealer and a private mechanic and all of them have said it's the brake switch. they then replace the brake switch, the lights work for about a month and then go again. I don't get a warning light or anything to tell me they're gone. I've had the car 18 months and it's only the last few months this has happened. Any ideas on what it could be? Cheers.

Phantom Electrics are a B****. Not very helpful i know but i feel for you and the mechanics looking at it. Most un-helpful post ive done this year;)

The lcm, light Control Module. All bm's have them, this could be the fault, but pricey at 500quid though. There might be a broken solder in it.
