Am registering my Christmas stuff on the Canon website.
Where will I find the serial number for the EF-S lens that came with the camera as the both need to be registered separately? :o

It depends on the lens. It can be on the inner metal rim of the lens.

Yes, you should register the lens and camera body separately.

the serial number should be imprinted into the mount of the lens, so the part of the lens that actually attaches to the camera has the number on it.

If you lens is faulty, then send it back to the company you bought it from. Contact them and let them know.

Just because you bought it on ebay doesn't mean that you can't get it replaced/repaired through them.

I register all my gear, as well as having it insured.

    It's a Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 II

I had a quick look on the part that connects to the camera body thinking it would be there and didn't see anyhting that stuck out too much. Although I wasn't in good light and wanted to get the lens back on because of DUST DUST.:eek: LOL

    Found it. :D

    Must get my eyes tested.
Was underneath, near the mount, on the outside and in small grey numbers.

    Thanks guys. :)

If it starts with letters it's a date code, not a serial number, don't mix up the two!
