What: Team Ireland V Team Finland
    When: May 17th
    Where: Dublin somewhere (venue TBC)

    Hi folks,

This May PaddyPowerPoker have arranged for a friendly game of Poker with international flare and will feature 30 players from Ireland and 30 players from Finland. We chucked the marketing team in a room for an hour and they came up with the name Finnvasion.

Team Finland will consist of 30 poker players and it will be captained by Teresa Nousiainen. Just so you know there will probably be some other similarly hot Finnish players on the day. Surprise surprise but Team Ireland will also consist of 30 players, and it will be captained by somebody yet to be confirmed.

If you think that you have what it takes and you want to qualify and play for Team Ireland in this event then you can qualify on PaddyPowerPoker.com. The game on May 17th is the equiv of a 200+20 freezeout. Mods the structure is yet to be confirmed but it will be generous, I will post more details on structure and venue once I have them finalised.

To play on team Ireland you need to qualify through one of our weekly qualifers which are held each Sunday evening on PPP.

More info is available through the following link

any questions, give me a shout.

do you have to be considered 'hot' to be selected for Team Ireland?

You could of picked a more exciting country! The people of Finland(whom I've met anyway) have about as much personality as a giant tortoise.

jaysus, can I not just rub my calves vigorously a couple of times?

(I realise that, to a grade A bogger such as yourself, this probably comes across as quite deviant but it's really not meant that way)

I'd like to nominate myself to look after Teresa. I'm trying to think of a pun concerning a Finn girl and a Fatboy... but I just can't manage it.... :D

So is the prizepool for this event 12k? How do payouts work or is it supposed to be a 'prestige' event where money isn't important?

It is being run as a 200 FO, so if its 60 runners then its a 12k prizepool. If for some reason there are less than 60 runners on the day then the prizepool will be reduced accordingly.

We havnt even discussed a payout structure yet but id guess it will be along the lines of what might be considered a standard payout. Payment of winnings will be in cash, none of this shipping the $$ back into your online account malarkey.
