If i try to view a mpg/avi quick embeds itself in the browser but makes the video really small so cant view it properly and i cant make it bigger is there a way around this?

I assume you mean embedded video like movie trailers and such, right? If it were me I'd just try and find the video file and download it. Have a look through the page's source to find the address. I don't know of any easier way.
