OK, so i hope to head to NY this summer on a J1. However proof is required that i am returning, and i was told that I need a Job offer or a postgraduate application, just to make sure i will be coming back here afterwards.( which i fully intend to BTW)
So heres my problem, I wont have a job offer (related to my degree) by the date of my embassy interview,(because i applied so early for the J1) so this leaves me with 2 options, either use an old employer to vouch that i am going back working for them, OR, apply for a postgrad.
So question time, is applying for a taught postgraduate course easy in ul(i wont actually end up doing it)?
Is there interviews and sh!t that go along with this?

I kind of regret not doing this a year earlier, i wouldnt have to deal with this then.

I went to the States after my final year last year, and they didnt even ask me for proof of return at my interview. They're supposed to, but they didnt. I wouldnt risk not getting anything, but all you need is a letter saying you have a job, just in case.

I got a letter from my mother's company that said they'd offered me a job for September, which was completely untrue. They wont check up on it.
