With Ireland probably using MPEG-4 as its DTT standard the following article may be of interest.

    From the DigiTAG website
    17/01/2008
Norway - Sony iDTV approved for use

The pay-DTT operator RiksTV has approved the use of the Sony HD iDTV for its services. It is the first iDTV to receive such certification.
RiksTV provides pay-DTT services using the MPEG-4 AVC compression format. Its services have been available since 1 September 2007.

    Source: RiksTV

    RiksTV is Norways pay-DTT operator.
A list of RiksTV approved MPEG-4 approved equipment is on their website.

A comparison of the specs of a Sony KDL-46W3000 on Sony (Norway) includes MPEG-4 as part of the spec and Sony (Ireland) which omits MPEG-4 from the spec, although Sony (Ireland) does indicate here
But our X3500 and W3000 models can also receive HD MPEG4 signals, to provide AD access for new High Definition content. Next year, lots of the other BRAVIA models will also have this feature.
