Lock it up and about 10mins later the radio comes on.
    Car stays locked.

    Anyone got any ideas?

Remove the fuse for the radio when you get out of the car. If it still goes off then...

Yes if your radio is out of control like that it's possible that your car is in fact a transformer with a faulty vocalisation module and is trying to communicate to you through your radio.

    I'll get me coat........

The radio in that car is a control unit which is on a network of control units. The fault could lie in the radio but more likely in another unit on the network. That is a job for either a dealer or a very good opel specialist.

More likely to be TIM - Traffic Information Message - practically the same as TA, but the message is stored and replayed the next time you turn on the stereo. I haven't seen TIM in years so I doubt it's on an 05 Vectra.

OP - turn off your TA and see if it still happens. But I'd be more inclined to think that the problem lies in the CAN gateway (or whatever Opel call it).

Thanks for the replies, getting it checked out by garage.
But a tempory solution is to switch the radio off by hand BEFORE taking the key out of the ignition, rather than letting the radio auto switch off by taking the key out.
Ill post the outcome once it gets sorted properly.

Had a 1.7CDTI 06 Astra, same thing happened. The car was new at the time, and was taken to the garage. They replaced the radio under warranty. That fixed it.

its a common problem do a google search - dont let opel tell you otherwise and demand it to be done without charge. Its a flaw.
