    I like it

Although, her expression seems kinda empty

What is she doin? Is she straightenin her hair? Should have left the whole action section in.

and the top of her hair is distracting, for me anyways!

ye straightening her hair the photo was taken through a mirror so i had to crop that out of the original image

fair enough that you had to crop the right hand side of the pic out, but the photo is unsatisfying as a result - you can't see what she's doing, and there's too much empty space.

nice one really - however to be constructive; i like the position of the subject in the shot (to the right) but when doing so, either there should have been an aesthetically pleasing background (controlled with or without DOF) or a vast emptiness of nothing which says to the viewer 'hey there's nothing more important in this case than the subject'. As i look upon the image, i go 'hey what a smart subject (eh... aesthetically pleasing in her own way!) but is that a jeans strewn over an armchair with a cushion badly positioned and a flashy handbag kinda dumped there'. The DOF kinda hides it but not well enough (imho).

I think its a good job for a candid which you wouldn't have had control over the background (moment in time stuff), and I'd guess its probably pretty special to you, but as for a 'knock you dead image' it probably lacks a few things.

One other point which relates to the crop is that herself has lost a hand just at the wrong part - the joint. You generally can crop limbs off people but it's normally recommended not to do it just a a joint (feet, elbows, knees, hands, etc..)

I wonder would a manual white balance work a little better on it perhaps picking the white of her eye? And while its not a major issue the focus is a little soft (again imho) on the subjects face.

Anyway to finish off where i started, its a nice shot and I'd be guessing probably quite special to you. The other stuff I've suggested above is subjective to the viewer.
