You shouldn't have any problems. I used to be with NTL and have two Airport stations. The NTL modem handles the internet, you just plug it into the Airport's WAN port. I'm not sure if NTL/UPC provide different modems/routers now but even if they do it shouldn't be an issue. Airport stations should work with any ISP.

As Sad Professor says it should just work. Assuming that you have one of the standard NTL modems just plug the ethernet cable from it into the WAN port and the rest should happen via DHCP.

It appears that NTL (UPC) are offering a wireless option now but I'd guess that it may be a modem and separate router, especially given the notional value of €50 they quote for it.

thanks guys. I seen NTL's wireless option but my thinking behind airport is i can use that no matter who i get broadband from (ADSL, cable, whatever) and just plug whatever standard device the provider gives me into the WAN port.

Airport is it i think. thanks again.

thanks guys, 1 last question. I'm trying to find info regarding the usb port - is power available over the port or will all peripherals plugged into it need their own power supply?

    They'll need their own power.
