For anyone who is a U2 fan (or even not!),the Gate cinema will be showing the movie U2 3D from the 22nd February.
Even non U2 fans who have seen this said it blew them away!

wow.. 3d.. with the glasses and all? I'd nearly go and see it for the novelty value, even if it is U2.

Yes!But the glasses are black ones and it's not the 3D of the old days with the red and blue lenses,it's full digital 3D and the reviews for it are great!
The link above has a section explaining the 3D bit.
    Can't wait!(can you tell I'm a U2 fan):D

Here's a review of the movie.

I assume the gate has got in a special silverscreen in screen 1?

Pity that they never showed beowulf or nightmare before christmas in 3D.

Well 1 cinema had to make the leap.It would have been a pity if U2 3D couldn't be shown in Cork.

I doubt it will be worth enduring U2 for.

headed to a preview of this on wednesday. cant wait.

hopefully they've cut out all bono's political mumbo jumbo and have just focussed on the music.. bono preaching in 3d.. not exactly a big selling point

I think I can just about tolerate Jesus 'Bono' Christ for the sake of a 3D experience.

Saw this last night, there was about 12 people in the Gate.
Thought it would be better tbh. Its just like watching the Vertigo tour at home on dvd.
The €12 would have been better spent on pints.

You have to put the glasses ON.It looks better that way.
