Stick them in the washing machine on low with a big scoop of that cilit bang stuff.. Most AEGs aren't tumble dryer friendly though so check the tag.

WD40 on a cloth., wipe it down, bish bash bosh., your done., then use the cleaning rod and a small piece of cloth to clean inside the barrel. a squirt of silicone oil would be handy in there to.,

Jesus Ober haven't seen you around in ages. Anyways tips: Wipe down the exterior of the AEG with silicon oil to prevent rust. Use a glasses cloth to clean lenses on scopes. Disconnect all batteries (including red dots). Turn Hop-up off. Clean barrel after each game using a light spraying of silicon oil and strips of J-cloth and coat inner barrel with Teflon dry lube spray (disconnect from hop-up before you do this). Discharge batteries (especially for Ni-Cads). Spray bit of silicon lube in mags every thousand rounds or so. Tighten all nuts and screws (use thread lock if they keep coming loose) Re-grease gear box every few months. Release all gas from GBB mags and spray all valves. Get mammy to wash camo (failure to do so may result in lose of limbs)

Hey dude, yeah been fairly busy over the last few months im afraid, new year so hope to be back this Sat with a vengance!!:D

thanks for the advice, still id be fairly reluctant to strip my AEG's for fear of not being put back right. Do i need to take out the barrell to clean it?

no, just turn the hopup off and use the cleaning rod with some cloth ontop of it, theres a little grove the cloth fits into.,

why do you need to turn off hop up to clean the barrel?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,812 ✭✭✭✭Witcher

because it partly shuts off the barrel so it can put a spin on the bb and you

could damage it if you force a cleaning rod past it
