    on the new t.v licence ad when there all thanking, thanking, thanking,.....theres a guy that comes on between john bowman and mary kennedy, who is he and where did he go. i recognised him immediately and realised he hasn't appeared on telly in years. what was he on?

    Saw that ad tonight and remembered this thread. Didn't remember the order of the people appearing but one face from the past that was in there was Eamon Lawlor who used to read the six one news on RTE. Was it him ? He's now on Lyric FM presenting the evening show. Saw him doing the show in the RTE studio in Dundrum T.C. a few weeks ago.

    Its good to see they have a new approach on it. Perhaps they've finally copped on that preaching that your evil just because you dont fund a TV station wasnt working.

    Seemingly a scrapped version of the old campaign exists where TV Licence man goes around to houses, and instead of posing awkward questions about the legality of the residents viewing habits, he instead hands out tenners and signed letters of apology from the Director General of Rté to anyone who's watched Makin' Jake or the Roaring Twenties.
