Irish Supporters Club for 6N tickets

    Hi all,
just wondering what are your chances of getting 6N tickets if you join the Irish Supports club online. I know it's too late for this year, more looking forward to next year. Every year it's pain trying to source tickets and I'd like a reliable way of being able to get tickets.

I know I could join a local club but I don't play rugby and not sure if I would have the time to go to club meetings on a regular basis. Feel it's a bit cheeky to joing a club purely for tickets and do nothing else within the club.

Do the Irish Supporters Club also sell tickets for friendlys? Defo have to get tickets for the NZ & Puma matches at the end of the year.

    Cheers
    Shane

They have a number of tickets for most games, although joining the club purely for tickets might leave you disappointed.

I'd imagine there will be huge demand for the Autumn Tests.

I had a chance to buy tickets for the upcoming 6n, but decided against it.

Cheers Zabbo. How are tickets allocated, is it a random selection of all memebers or do you apply and hope for the best?

Im guessing here, but I would be pretty sure they have a few hundred tickets for a few thousand members..

So you have a chance if your quick on the ball the morning they go on sale - much like concert tickets etc

Yes, it's a lottery for the most part, sometimes on a first come - first served purpose.

Membership would be from 6-10 thousand, When I signed up last year, I was around the 8000th member...

    Yikes, slim enough chance then.

Apart from the tickets, is there any other incentive for being a member? Don't want to blow 50 bucks for nothing other than a small chance of being picked to purchase tickets.

Tickets have generally been sold online rather than lottery approach.

I missed on tickets last year but got tickets for all 3 home games this year. There has generally been tickets for all friendly games too.

The Club also organises match day events and sometimes charter trips to away games (including tickets).

I have just renewed for third year and would recommend the club.

There is a pretty good online forum also

...And is it like log on at 9:00 am on the morning of the release or they will be sold out by 9:01?

No not that bad, it was at least 9.07 when they sold out ;) . There is absolutely no gurantee of tickets when you join, should note that. It really p!sses me off listen to members whine on their forum that they paid €50 and didn't get tickets....

    Hi Shane:

    To answer your 2 questions:

Yes, there is a good chance of getting tickets - you just have to make sure you are logged in and ready to go 10 minutes before the ticket sale starts. You might not always get the most desireable package but if you are there and ready when the ticket sale starts you'll probably get something.

And yes, they do sell tickets to friendlies, including overseas friendlies. In fact these are often quite easy to get due to higher ticket numbers being available and lower level of interest as travel is expensive.

    Hope thats a help,

    Laura

I'm thinking of joining too and was just wondering what's the limit to the number of tickets you can buy?

    Depends on the game.

Cheers all for the response here.

One final question. Do they announce beforehand when tickets will be going on sale. At least this way, I can be prepared to be logged in for 9am!

    Thanks

Yes, notice is given to the IRSC well in advance of the sale which in turn is well in advance of the 6N.
Email your questions to info@irishrugby.ie and you'll get a quick response.

Does anyone think it would be easy to pick up a few tickets on the day of the Italy game?

I'd say so. At the last Italy game in Landsdowne there were loads of them floating around.

Anyone know if they've removed the seats from Hill 16 after the soccer or if they're still there. There always seems to be a better atmosphere standing.England-Ireland there last year was incredible.

IRFU have sold bucket seats on the hill, so they'll be there.

Oh well... thanks for the reply.

Tbh the atmosphere at England game was never going to be repeated against ITA/SCO/WAL but I agree terraces are much more condusive to good atmosphere.

I'm sure they'll be like golddust again next year so there's no harm in trying for the away game. The tickets should be far easier to get.If our earlier performances aren't great most people probably won't bother travelling anyway.
