    Hi,

I have a Sky box downstairs in the main room - I want to be able to watch all the channels on the TV upstairs as well. What's the best overall package for doing this? in terms of picture and sound quality.

I know some packages work with NTL and some work with Sky so just want to focus on Sky.

    Thanks in advance.

    EireEV.

If you're focusing on Sky then go for multiroom for €15 a month on top of what you're already paying. You'll need a landline, however, to which both decoders must be connected or else you'll end up paying for two full subscriptions.

I was thinking more along the lines of one of those Video senders - set one up last week (NTL) so just wondering what the best one to buy for Sky is.

An alternative compromise is to replace the Sky LNB yourself (don't need to if you already have Sky+ or SkyHD), no alignment of dish needed, with a Quad LNB.

Then add a non-Sky Free To Air receiver and get about 45+ decent TV (including BBC & ITV missing from the Irish Sky Program Guide) and 20+ decent radio.

You can as well feed the 2nd TV via Sky rfout 2 and magic eye at 2nd TV set or use Videosender and have all the original box channels remotely on the 2nd TV.

Video sender compatibility is less a problem on Sky Digibox than on some NTL boxes.

Thanks Watty Could you recommend a good video sender for use with standard sky box?

    What about this one?

Personally not a fan of the SLx gear.

I'd suggest the more expensive AEI Digisender or maybe One For All video sender. Aldi and Lidl sometimes sell video senders for around €40, and they're apparently pretty good too.

Can I ask why your not a fan? Have you personally used this piece of eqipment?

The AEI digisender - is that the one in Argos? the receiver and transmitter are 2 cumbersome - I'd prefer something small and compact.

The In-Laws have Sky and wanted a video sender to send a sigal to an upstairs television. I bought one in Maplin (I think it was approx 80 euro, I'm afraid I can't remember the brand name) and it works like a charm. It might be worthwhile having a look at their catalogue or paying them a visit. Hope this is of help to you.
