preferance in make?...... im not too sure of the in's and out's of guitars yet only that cheaper ones are made of cheaper standard wood(plywood etc...) so dont want another one like that, just want a decent standard acoustic for in or around 400euro and possibly a decent pick-up(dont want one without that)

i should be able to get a decent enough one for that price?

    Try www.thomann.de

Probably the cheapest site for buying music equipment. Delivery is free for anything over 115 euro or something like that. I've bought loads of stuff from them, and it's always been prefect and delivery is usually about a week. For around 400 euro have a look at:

    http://www.thomann.de/ie/takamine_eg340sc.htm

That's along the lines of what I would go for. Takamine make great acoustics. Have a look in the acoustic section and try find something you like though. I usually pick one out online, then try find a shop in town that has it, so I can try it out, then buy it online. Hope that helps

defo none of these in the shops in town thats for sure.... been all over!. In fairness i cant really tell to much of a differance in the sound... i can tell the differance between a budget one and a good one, but cant tell quality between any of varied value above chaep ones...only been playing for 3 mths, guitar i have was only €120, so want to up it a bit and get a better one!.

might just take a shot with the takamine.... both have what im looking for, i prefer cut-aways amd want input. wish they were'nt basic colours though i like guitars with a differant finish(mine now is dark blue :D)

I got a Lag from Waltons. It is an absolutely amazing instrument and I gig with it every weekend and it puts out the best plugged-in sound. They've a whole range that is very reasonably priced given their quality.

I'm all for an online bargain but for something that is crafted entirely of wood deserves to be tried first.
