I think at that sort of price they'll be much of a muchness. Go for the one you like the look of.

However if you're thinking of playing an acoustic drum kit with them I'd be reasonably sure they wouldn't have enough power...

I think understand the thinking there Paul but even at the lower end of the price bracket there can be a difference between gear. Not as much as mid price but real none the less.

Kennym_27: What exactly is it your looking to do?

I wouldn't know anything about the lower end (cough) !

For that job you'll need something that won't pop - I reckon a 1 x 12 powered monitor would be your man 100 watts or similar. Even a dampened drumkit is going to be loud ..

Paul is talking about something like this

Are headphones definitely out of the picture? Playing in a room with a full drumkit and high powered monitoring equipment all the time will almost certainly damage your hearing.

I'd suggest a pair of decent earbuds with with a set of industrial ear muffs. An old drummer I played with used to that, I tried it a few times and it sounded great.

The issues then become hearing the kit! .... tis a difficult one

Well at the moment i use headphones but I want a speaker for my room to play music anyway. I sometimes use my bands speakers to play along to, and I keep my headphones on. Would that 12x1 monitor be the best option?
Thanks guys for all your help!!
