jesus weap, she beautiful. Love the counter such a simple idea, wonder could it be adapted to other AEGs?

You should get a shell ejecting shottie for it, man that would be even sweeter

from memory there is a lot of work for the shotty and i mean a lot...i think you need to get the original franchi metal housing and grip, modify it. the really sad thing is i got in contact with a guy in switzerland a few years back who was selling them for like 50 dollars, but i could not import them because of the firearms law here, and it was only the housing and grip... if you have one of them its much easier. they have to make the plastic thicker to give it strength and thats where you get into a lot of dremmelling. the problem is franchii dont make that anymore and they are super sought after by shotgun lovers the world over. the remington 870 is the only one that works (again from memory) due to the trigger position and that it loads on the bottom but you are still left with the issue of where to put the battery. i might try and wrangle one of the small lipo ones in there somewhere....

i think they are still selling the kits, although they are hard to get. That was one of the reason s i bought it years ago, i knew they would stop making them and i didnt want to be left without one.

i will get the mag mod as soon as i can...and then spray it the right colour. and i have a close approximation of the strap as well, altho i am not sure the rear stock would support the weight, for some reason there is a big aluminium block in the front, which migh put a lit of strain on it...

it looks like it could be made up easily enough though, i have that front handgrip/launcher thing from an old springer shotgun, its suprising how close it is, and you can buy those counters in maplin for about 15yoyo's. I put one on the lil fellas minimoto.,

well strange as it may seem for the models, not the airsoft one, there is a company who does that...

    never saw these before http://www.aspeng.com/

there is another company that does special light effects, they do a working model of the tracker, the pulse rifle, bladerunner gun sounds and lights, ghostbuster sounds and lights, star wars kits...i will try and find them if anyone wants them...not cheap tho...

over the years i got a lot of these sites but be advised...you are dealing with people who treat these subjects like a religion...so be careful what you ask for

Thats the biz. When in the States a few years ago, there was a shop in 3rd Street Mall in Santa Monica selling two versions of the M41, one which was baised on the RS Tompson, and fired blanks and another static model.

Both were very fantasic, good to see its still alive.

IIRC, the camo is nigh-on impossible to get these days?

And come to think of it, there was a lad in school with me who had the tech. manual. It detailed all the guns & vehicles and what-not. The old Aliens comics (I have them) used to have tech. spec pages as well, but nothing near as detailed as the manual. Not sure if I have a copy [of the manual] somewhere. I do remember picking it up in Scotland one year to look at. I'm fairly certain I'd remember having it though.

But yes, back to the pulse-rifle. Falls, that is just the uber-sexeh. I wants it!! And I still haven't forgotten about the M56 either. Yes I also have a fair idea of the full cost ;-)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,341 ✭✭✭Fallschirmjager

yep the smart gun is the uber elite...

as for the comics dude...you want to check them out you maybe suprised what they are worth now...

Sorry to go a bit off-tangent. I'll keep it short.

There are two different 'era' of comic so to speak.

The original Dark Horse ones which were incredibly dark, violent, and full of very graphic splatterings (guys having their brains punched out through the front of their heads, etc. you get the idea ...) and gratutitious swearing. You can get the stories in graphic novel format now, notably:
    • Aliens Book One: Black & White novel telling the story of how the Aliens over-run earth (set 10 years pre-comic if you will).
    • Aliens Book Two: Covers the story in comic issues 1-6, with a USMC general trying to build an army of 'controllable' Aliens. Quite crazy stuff. Hicks & Newt (a bit more grown up) are in it.
    • The Amazing Earth War: pics up after the end of book two, with the return of Ripley and the attempt to reclaim earth. Lots of nukes get used since Ripley's involved ;)

issue 7 of the original series (Earth War #1) also introduced the fantastic original 'Aliens Vs. Predator' story with human colonists stuck in the middle, which you can also now get in graphic novel format.

After that, the Aliens comics took a bit of a strange (and sh*t) turn fora while under a new art-house whom i can't remember, and then got back on track with a conspiracy story following a bunch of USMC soldiers thrown into a 'punishment' detail for being general f*ck-ups and finding themselves bang-smack in the middle of all manner of crazy stuff.

There's a few more AvP stories out there - several of which pick up after the original.

i know bugger all on the comics --they sound like a cool collection dude, but might be worth a few hours on google to find out dude...

Obviosuly not canon then, since Hicks and Newt died in A3. Or did they explain that away with clones or something ?

All written before Alien 3 made it's appearance, so technically it was still in Canon at the time.

Book two feeds into Earth War, so Ripley, Hicks, and Newt are all in it. Hick's character was interesting .... survivor guilt, etc. and that his squad-mates all died. Very bitter and seriously bad-tempered when it came to fighting aliens as a result ;)

Shame they killed off the character in Alien 3. Poor decision.

Sounds good...I'm not one for graphic novels normally, but this might be worth investigating. Along with the new Dark Tower one that I've seen in a few places. Why on earth do retailers SEAL a goddamn graphic novel ? Surely the artwork is the main attraction ?

Yeah....I couldn't agree more. He would have made a great character.

Anyway....to go back on topic...she looks the bizz Tom...any chance of you bringing her to HRTA next time you're there? I have a kit on order and there's no sign of it yet...be nice to see exactly what I'm looking out for :)

no probs...i still need to fix the nade launcher. years ago i bought aluminium grenades from a chap who had a lathe. on the g&p model there is a terrible red shotgun round when you rack it. i took mine off and want to fit one of the real aliens ones. also the racking is not realistic at all...so i want to fix those.

i know what some people were doing was taking the real colour and getting them mixed in B&Q as they can accurately match the colours apparently. if you are going to respray yours lets me know and i can send you the tin colour.

by any chance do you have a copy of the spring loaded 870 shotty from china in your sights?. the marazen one wont work as its gas and i couldnt fit the tank anywhere...

Just to note as well, that the cammo that the USMC's used was called Frog and Leaf. Very hard to get a hold of now.

Say hello to the newest addition to the family. Resin kit purchased by absolute chance from a vendor at Berget 6 in Sweden for half-price (€150) on an already ridiculously cheap price.

The body is an ACM THompson, supplied by eirsoft (and I have tormented Shiva with text pictures of this beastie already).

Assembly was an absolute boll*cks. When I get some free time I might have a go at manufacturing a metal kit to go over a thompson AEG and then add a hacked up 870/SPAS-12 into the mix for a working airsoft grenade launcher to remain faithful to the original as seen in Aliens. The underslung grenade launcher in the pictures above is actually the battery compartment and completely just for show.

    Anyway, pictures:

looks stunning lemming...very nice and great great value as well....

if anyone is looking for the uniform in accurate colour, there is a guy call menatarms and you can get details at

    http://www.scifimilitary.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1321

thats as good as you will get.

the armour, if you are interested is done by a guy called spat or spats (well i got mine off him) that does really good ones. of course you could goto the guy in the UK to get the metal version (he made the originals), but from memory you will need to remortgage your house.

on the scifi military site there is a guy doing the shoulder lamp and its very accurate. i think his name is Matuso

a word of caution...they are hardcore aliens fans, so you better brush up on your knowledge... ;)

An amazing gun you have there Lemming and nice one on the working GL section! I'll add to the thread when I have mine done, just waiting on a resin 870 and barrel adaptor for the spas cage. I'll have to pick your brains about the airsoft 870 at some stage when I upgrade it.

Thought I might aswell add my work in progress to this thread. Still a long way to go, but its based off a cyberguns thompson, g&p add on kit (well, just the shroud was used), alu/resin 870 and real steel spas cage/grip. Will eventually finish it and post up. Oh and I am eyeing that case you have there lemming!:D

i dont think it looks remotly like a M1A1, i dont mean the look of it i mean its shape and the handle

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 92 ✭✭Beano7

    Can you order me one?

you can get em at www.airsoftworld.co.uk but if you do order it make sure to remove the spring, jus incase

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 390 ✭✭kwalsh000

The only parts left of the M1A1 are really the upper and lower receiver and the brass barrel. Everything else is built around it, even the grip is an add on part. The M1A1 on its own is a great little gun tho:D

i never tried it,is it better or worse then the pulse rifle version?
