Nothing major. A vostro can do everything an inspiron can do and vice versa.

On some of those Vostro, XP is free and others they charge to switch to Xp. No idea why.

Not much difference -- the cases look identical (apart from colour) and the specs are pretty similar on both ranges.

No bloatware installed on the Vostro. That's reason enough to buy it.

I noticed that alright. Do they fill the other ones with crap?

Don't know about the other machines aimed at businesses but Dell actually lists this in the specs on the site!

I didn't mean other business systems, I meant home systems like inspiron and xps. My inspiron was filled with crap when I got it but that was over a year ago so I was wondering if they had stopped doing it altogether. Hopefully they have. It's the worst having to format your brand new laptop when all you want to do is play with it.

They still have all the usual stuff. Tool bars, anti virus, automatic windows updater.. etc!

I had to format mine. So people should add in two hours of work onto purchasing a dell laptop with bloat ware.
