Vienna - Recommend me a Hotel

    Hi,

    Going to Vienna in a month or so. Managed to get tickets for the Vienna State Opera which had previously been sold out!

    Anyway, I am looking for some hotel recommendations.
    Preferably, the hotel will be:

    Modern
    Close to the city centre
    Equivalent to Irish 4 star
    Restaurant, bar

    All advice greatly appreciated

    *I know Vienna has been covered in various other threads before but I did a search and couldn't find anything similar to this one.

    Can't really help you i have only ever stayed in a hostel in Vienna, but its always good to look at tripadvisor.com, often times the best place to find great hotels, just search Vienna on it and it will give you like the 10 best reviewed hotels by other travellers

    tripadvisor.com is US-oriented; use http://www.tripadvisor.ie/ and you get prices denominated in euros. If a hotel looks as if it might suit you, hit the "check rates" button and it serves as a portal to a number of booking sites. It's worth checking them all, as they can offer different deals.

    I stayed in Vienna a couple of years ago for 2 nights, i got this hotel at a really good price after shopping around a bit.
    The hotel itself is in a great location, only around the corner from the main shopping street. The room we got was great, it was like an apartment! I would definatly stay there again. It was clean and modern.
    I don't think we used the bar in the hotel to be honest, but as far as I remember there was one there. Hope this helps.
