Does anybody know if theres any work available out in the airport at the mo in planning and engineering depts of any of the maintenance companys or something similar? Ive done my apprenticeship as an aircraft mech, but due to a mild back injury (which flares up when climbing around the aircraft eg cargo bays etc)...im looking for a more office based enviorment. Since the injury ive worked for an engineering consultancy for the last 2 years and have progressed now to head of calibrations in a major international manufacturing company (allbeit as a contractor) but i miss the aircraft buisness and would love to get back into it.

    Anyone help?

Shannon won't be taking on any staff for the next year or so, according to what I was told. Handling agents often do recruit people however.....

Your best bet career wise is to stay well clear of aircraft enginering, its a small volitile industry.
