paye work question

    dont know if i in right forum but here goes...

    working full time in a company and i wanted to try and sort my tax out..
    finished college last september but was working part time with same company last 8 years...

    so up to december 07 not paying tax as i have not earned enough... december started paying tax, fair enough...

    here is query i am leaving country in june for couple of years and i want to earn as much as posible before i go,
    so is there anyway i can not pay tax till june..... use up my limit for the year before i go... or something like that...

    Don't think so, you'll pay tax on whatever you earn and you can then get a refund in June. I don't think they will let you use your full TFA now. But ring the tax office up they would know better than anyone here.

    well it would be great if they did.... save alot of hassle, wont be here to use it after june... as leaving the county and will be getting my p45

    Your tax credits are spread evenly over the 12 months of 2007. However if you stop working in June 2007, then you have unused tax credits (ie 6 months worth from July to December 2007). In that case, you have effectively overpaid tax and can gp about applying for a refund.
