Sony Laptops

I'm getting a laptop and I'm thinking of sony.

    2 gig ram
    160 to 200 gig hd
ideally 2 ghz processor but would settle for 1.5 (do you agree)
    15" screen

Any suggestions? I really want something for interenet use and maybe using some music software, so something pretty decent. Also what's the battery life on it like

Would dell be a better option? I hear they are having trouble with their deliveries. I'm currently in the UK at the moment

Whats your opinion. I had a dell inspiron before and all though it did the job, but it packed in after a few years. It had a noisy fan that would run constantly, lines down the screen and in the end it just wouldn't boot.

Sony have nice looking laptops but they are expensive which is something you should take into consideration.

I've had a sony laptop for three years, it's great: in terms of viewing angles, it has the best screen I've ever seen on a laptop, it has a nice layout, etc...

In terms of disadvantages, the battery life on this laptop is awful, but maybe that's because it's a bit old. Having said that, I rarely work on battery. One other thing to think about is Sony's support is not great. They had to ship to the UK for a minor fix, and I was left without a computer for a week.

Oh, they bundle a bit of crapware on, and you don't get a proper windows disk, just the option to make recovery disks. I always thought of that as a huge failing, but it might not bother everyone.

My house insurance paid for it though. The price is definitely something to think about, but if you have money to burn, I'd say go for it.

My last 2 laptops have been sony only ever had one problem which i had to send it it back dhl collected and it was returned 3 days later. They rang twice to update me on what was wrong and the repairs. So there expensive but i think there worth it. Im sure some people have horror stories with them but i would deffo reccomend

Thats my one its lower spec than what your loking for but you can get more expensive ones in that range with what you require.

I got it from laptopsdirect however ive read that a lot of people here have had problems with laptopsdirect so i was probably lucky so maybe look for them on another site

Nice i dont play games and i wouldnt really use blue ray on a laptop so mine is a much lower spec in the FZ series but still does the job and works very well.
