Just as in the title: I am currently with o2 but am gonna port to meteor. Are o2 strict on the email-phone number association? Or is o2.ie viewed as a separate entity? Will i still be able to use my email address after i port?

You'll lose the o2.ie account/email (If my experience is anything to go by.)

You will definitely lose it. Just set up a Gmail account. It's better anyways.

buy an o2 prepay sim with a new number, think they're 10euro. then register that number & u shud be able 2 get your previous email address back, thats what i did anyway. (if your bothered about keeping it)

you should loose it. I wouldn't take the fact that you seen to still have it to be a certainty. You could lose it any day now. Best option is prob buying another sim like the guy above suggested and use the sim every 6 months to keep it active.

I know it is an old thread but i just remembered this thread the other day.

Just a quick update to say that my o2.ie email is still active, dispite the move to meteor.

Just FYI O2 will eventually do a purge of the system and catch all the non attached e mail addresses.

Could be tomorrow, could be a year.

Get using GMAIL as your primary mail client :)

It has been since its release.
